Description
The Bird of Paradise, also known as Strelitzia Reginae, is a plant that instantly transforms any space into a tropical escape. Native to South Africa, it’s loved for its large, elegant leaves and, once mature, its spectacular orange and blue flowers that resemble a bird in flight. With its upright growth and bold greenery, this plant is a true eye-catcher, growing up to 150 cm tall indoors.
Caring for the Bird of Paradise is simple with the right conditions. It loves a bright spot with plenty of natural light and requires regular watering to keep the soil lightly moist — though less in winter when growth slows down. Ensure good drainage to avoid root rot, and don’t worry if the leaves develop small splits or spots — these are a natural part of the plant’s character. During warmer months, it can also enjoy a sunny terrace or balcony, but be sure to bring it back inside before the cold arrives, as it is not frost hardy.
Delivered at a height of 25–40 cm (including its 9 cm nursery pot), this Bird of Paradise arrives ready to grow into the striking centerpiece it’s destined to be.
