Description
The String of Pearls (Senecio Rowleyanus), also known as the Pea Plant, is a whimsical and easy-to-care-for succulent that adds playful texture to any space. Its delicate stems are adorned with small, spherical leaves that resemble a string of pearls, making it a favorite for hanging pots, shelves, or terrariums. In warmer climates, it thrives outdoors, but indoors it is equally charming and low-maintenance.
This succulent stores water in its bead-like leaves, so it requires minimal watering. Let the soil dry out completely between waterings and consider watering from below, as the plant prefers that. It needs very little fertilization—just once every two months is enough. The trailing strings can eventually reach up to 2 meters, creating a dramatic, cascading effect. Please note: the plant is slightly toxic to pets, so keep it out of reach. String of Pearls is also easy to propagate from cuttings, making it perfect for sharing or expanding your indoor garden.
